What the hell is going on with Cyberpunk 2077?
The biggest disaster for the gamers in 2020 was not the Covid outbreak but the release of one of the most anticipated games in history, aka Cyberpunk 2077.
The newly launched game had a history of mishaps since its supposed release of 2012. Things went exciting when CD Projekt Red launched the game on the 10th of December, 2020.
What would become a defining moment for the company turned out to be a disaster when the whole community gave negative reviews and demanded a refund.
The game became a massive success in terms of pre-ordering as about 8 million PC users ordered it. Unfortunately, the game's glitches were too big to ignore, especially for PS4 and Xbox One users. The reactions were so harsh that CD Projekt’s stock fell at a whopping level of 12%.
The Cyberpunk recall started swiftly as Sony Corp. pulled the game off the PlayStation Store. Although CD Projekt is negotiating terms with Sony, the game is still temporarily suspended.
Talking about refunds, the developing company has issued a statement apologizing to the Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One fans for the glitches. They have also offered refunds to those who opt for it if they don’t want to play anymore.
But the situation is not entirely favorable as both Sony and Microsoft are not exclusively assisting Cyberpunk refunds, making it problematic for both the developers and the gamers.
If we talk about the errors, they were too big to neglect. Almost all of the games couldn’t be played on PS4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, the game was buggy for the latest PCs and consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Many gamers stated that features were missing from the game that was shown in the trailer. Some questioned the graphics being too low quality, while others had issues with police in the game and the hacking option being unimpressive.
Fans were also quick to the point that the game included offensive and stereotypical characters. They also weren’t intrigued by the tone, city life, life paths, and character customization.
The Cyberpunk recall was made timely, although it is still unknown when it will re-release or how many overnight shifts it would take the developers to make the game error-free.
